Man, I gotta tell you last night’s NCAA
basketball finals was a doozy for me. Not
because I especially liked either team, but
because of how it all played out. Memphis had
the game won, but let Kansas back into in
the last seconds and . . .
Even watching on TV you could tell the 3
point shot that was made at the buzzer by
Kansas to take the game into overtime was THE
knockout punch for the Memphis Tigers. It was
like they threw in the towel and said “Well
we tried .. .”
They put up no fight in the overtime and
basically gave the game away.
This email is not so much about basketball or
if you’re a fan of either team or if you even
watch sports, it’s about success.
Played out last night, was a perfect example
of what successful people and teams do. They
fight till the last second and win. They
never loose hope. They make the buzzer beater
to take them into overtime, and then they
follow through.
I’m not saying Memphis is a bunch of slouches
either. To be honest, I think they were the
better team last night, and if you watched
you may agree with me. Being the best is
NEVER enough.
When the final buzzer sounds and the other
team wins you can always talk about what could
have happened or what should have happened -
only problem is it’s NOT what did happen.
In your business, I know for an absolute fact
you have the skills to be a star. You have
the ability to make your financial dreams
come true, but it ain’t good enough.
Above all else you gotta want it more. Those
that have successful business online are not
better or more skilled when it comes right
down to it, they just wanted it more.
With 8 second left to go in overtime Memphis
took a final three point shot that missed,
but what made me shake my head in
disappointment was NOT that they missed, but
they just quit playing. They conceded the
game before it was over.
Play to the end. Play to win, and realize
shots missed today pave the way for shots
you’ll make tomorrow.
