Let’s Fix A Quick Mistake I See . . .
First off . . .
In a few weeks I’ve got something pretty darn
cool coming your way, so be on the lookout. I
think you’ll really get a great deal out of
what I have planned.
But, in the meantime, let’s clear up a quick
mistake I see a few people make. A few days
ago I invited everyone who cared to share
their story over on the blog.

I invited everyone to share their link for
their business in the slot noted on the blog
if they wanted to and I noticed many people
took me up the offer for free traffic, but I
also noticed a few people made one of those
newbie mistakes, so let’s clear it up now.
The mistake is to just put your business
opportunity link in as is, so if your
business link is username.blahbla.com many
people just input it as such, and although
it’s not wrong it’s a little bit of a
mistake.
Here’s why . . .
Let’s say in the future you decide to change
your business or, knock on wood, you’re
business goes under and you have links all
over the net going straight to your business,
what happens?
Well you’ve spent a great deal of time
finding great places to get the word out, but
now that something changes all those links
now lead people no where. To try to go back
and change every single link would be
impossible, so . . .
The way to fix it is simple. First, you want
to think long term about everything you’re
doing. Think five years out and think of
everything you’re doing now as being
something that you’re doing that’s building
to the future. You’re creating leverage so
that over the course time things get easier
for you.
So here’s what you do . . .
You go over to a domain name register and you
buy a domain name that you like. The domain
name register will have the ability for you
to forward your domain to where ever you like,
so just forward it to your company’s website.
The traffic still goes to the same place now,
but you’ve put a safety valve in the mix.
Once you own your domain name you own it and
no one can disturb your flow of traffic
except you, so . . .
If 20 years from now you want to start
sending all your online traffic in a new
direction all you have to do is forward
your domain name that you own to the new
location and now not a unique visitor is
wasted.
That’s smart marketing.
Before you advertise anything else out
there online be sure you’re sending all your
traffic through a domain you own and control
and in essence you now control that entire
stream of traffic for the rest of your life.
