Daegan’s Devious Plan (I’ve Been Found Out)

I’ve been found out.

Asher, who made post #36 (Click here to see),
from yesterday’s debate is a smart cookie.

He caught me red handed in my little
devious plan.

Let me start with Ahser’s comment. Aher said,
and I quote . . .

“I’m sure you’ve seen your share of hate mail
and this is just your devious plan of getting
people to respond >;)”

You’re right, and here’s why . . .

I made a conscious decision not too long ago to
change the way I communicate via email. A
“light” went off in my head.

For years I had been ranting, raving, sharing
strategies, and tips by email ONLY.

While this does a good job at transmitting
information to you I wish someone had told me
years ago I was sometimes left wondering if my
message had really gotten through to as many
people as possible.

Well, the “light” that went off showed me a
new level of to communicating my message. Taking
it from a simple lesson to be taken notes on to
a true growth experience for all involved

In school when a teacher teaches a student
can raise his or her hand and offer an opinion
or ask questions.

Email alone doesn’t allow this, but . . .

Using a blog and proactively asking you to
respond turns what was a simple passive
lesson to be read and pondered into a true and
engrossing learning experience.

In class, as a student, did a fellow class mate
ever raise their hand and share an insight or
an angle you hadn’t thought of?

students in class

What happened when they did?

Did it get you to think about the subject at
hand from a different perspective?

Did it allow you to come up with new
conclusions and or answers to the topic being
discussed that you wouldn’t have thought of
on your own?

On the other hand, did you ever take
part in the debate and after playing actively
in the situation go away with a deeper
understanding of the subject matter?

Learning is an active process.

Yes, Asher . . .

I did send yesterday’s email to get a
response. Why?

We all learn more when we all get involved.

Just today I got an email I will share later
this afternoon or maybe tomorrow from a
participant in last weeks debate who had
taken that information and recruited 4
people in the last 9 days.

Active learning => Deeper Understanding =>
More Precise Planning => Higher Probability
Of Taking Actions That Lead To Success =>
Results.

Now there will be times where I send out an
email as a lesson or a video or audio lesson
that I know will bring you success based on
my own tried and true results without starting
a conversation around it, but Asher . . .

Whether you like it or not, the debate rages
on!

If you’ve taken part in our recent blog
debates have you learned more from me
proactively asking you to share and seeing
what perspectives others have shared?

If you haven’t taken part, have you had new
insights by following along?

I look forward to your thoughts below . . .

    Phillip,

You see opportunity where others look for something to complain about, and I know that’s a huge component to your and Falesha’s success in your opportunity. Keep your eyes wide.

Hey Deagan, I’ve just recently found your site. I am relatively new to this whole on line business thing. I’ve joined a couple of affiliate sites where you pay there fee and they make you a website to basically sell more of their web-sites, and then they tell you to advertise on google. (not much luck there I can tell you.) I’m about to join a online MLM and right before I did I found your site. Can you give me some advise on what to do next. I liked what I saw about getting so many people in your downline.Does your free CD show me how to do everything or do I need to join your site as well.
    Thanks, Sean

    Daegan,

Don’t give up on your e-mails tho!

Yes, the blog post is a devious plan, but it works, that’s a fact. But as Dynamic Duo, I have a mail filter set up to move every one of your e-mails to a folder on my hard drive where I can go back to review it later (along with the books I’ve purchased from you). The thing to remember is the blog with bring many visitors to your site (new and old) but the e-mail is the one thing that keeps your name in front of me every time you send an e-mail.

    Take care,

    John Davin

  7. Cheree Says:

    Daegan,

I smile every time I read your emails, and miss them when you’re busy with other things. I always look forward to the next “flaming” topic on your blog. Seriously, I couldn’t agree more. I learn so much from these topics. Usually the more inflamed, the more informative they are. I look forward to the day that my blog is even 1/2 as active as yours.

Some of the really important things I’ve learned lately:
    take action — NOW!
capture leads, don’t just send them to your offer (lead capture page)
the importance of regular communication with prospects
have a call to action in EVERY article, post and e-mail

Not all of these lessons have come from the blog. I listen to your MP3 files religiously. In fact, just downloaded another one you sent a link for today that I’m itching to listen to.

Thanks for all you do, Daegan!

Amelia Ramey, a swipe file is proven and tested advert or sales letter. For example, I’m going to do a sales letter but why should I re-invent the wheel when the masters have done it already, and I can look at how they wrote their sales letter, their heading, or for this case, their email, see what got me to this blog, see what words used, and then use it for my sales letter, and just change it around a bit, to go with my sales letter, or my email I send to people etc.

That’s what some don’t get. They just don’t see what luck has come knocking on their door. Talk about opportunity slapping people in face and they don’t see it lol.

I used swipe file when I was designing magazine adverts or for newspapers. All experts would not go and re-invent the wheel. They’d get all magazines, newspapers, look at what worked, and use that and just change the wording a little for their own message.

So ask yourself Amelia, how did you get here? Was it the heading on Daegan, was it the way he hooked you in with the message in that email juicy email to get you coming here and debating? Was it the blog as well? What was it it.

Stand back, look at what he’s doing because what he is doing now, through all process, is he is teaching it anyway, for free. The whole damn system is slap, bang, in middle, on people’s faces e.g.

    1. System

    2. Email auto responder

    3. Message copy

    4. Blog

    etc etc

Keep going Daegan with your emails.

    Hi Daegan,

    I wasn’t expecting a blog post with
my name in it, that’s for sure ;)
And you’ve sure made my day!

    Here’s my responses…

    ===================
“If you’ve taken part in our recent blog
debates have you learned more from me
proactively asking you to share and seeing
    what perspectives others have shared?”
    ====================
I have taken part - but when there’s so
many voices in the blog debates, it’s hard
to hear everybody & respond to each one.

    I’m always learning… either actively
or subtlely. I believe the key is merely
paying attention and revising it. I love
reading the responses on your blog and
from your emails because there’s so many
people here sharing their life lessons in
    very subtle ways.

    ====================
“If you haven’t taken part, have you had new
    insights by following along?”
    ====================
    Definitely, there’s a saying about
chess that fits aptly where I live…
    (I’m translating it rawly) -
‘While the chess players are confused,
    the observer is clear.’

That’s why observers aren’t supposed to
talk & chip in when the players are
    engaged in battle.

And if the chess players make a move
that confuses or stumps the observer,
it’s a chance for the observer to learn
    some new strategies or moves.

I just happened to have exposed your
tactic when I chipped in ;)

  12. admin Says:

    Asher,

See what I’m saying. Your quote carries heavy wisdom that could be debated for days. Hence the value and a point of validation for having these little debates on the blog.

I gotta stop and thing about that little quote. I’ve never heard it and it’s already given me a perspective. Thank you.

  14. Asher Says:

    Hi Daegan,

    You’re very welcome! Ah… I’m
just glad that you enjoyed it
    because I’ve totally enjoyed
    the little conversation.

    Quotes are everywhere - mine
just happen to be in Chinese &
    I’ve merely translated them :)

Daegan, I happen to be working
with Jaz right now - just
    thought that you might be
    interested to know that.

Also, you’ve given me and many
others lots to think about with
    the great information that
you’ve been pumping out over &
    over again in your emails.

It’s never ceases to amaze me
how you can always pump out
    great information again and
    again in such regular fashion.

It’s like you have an eager
    child within you that finds
the gems of wisdom that people
like me tend to skim over
    because we’re “grown up”.

    And I think that’s why you’ve
been able to reach your level
    of success because of your
    constant willingness to learn
    even though you’ve already
succeeded in so many ways we
    wish to achieve.

  15. Lilly Says:

    hi Daegan and everybody else,

Interesting tactic, Daegan. Have you ever thought of teaching 13 year olds? All joking aside, I am somewhat serious about that in the sense that you are a good teacher-possibly great, but I’ve never been able to listen to any phone or web seminars-I’m 4 hours later in Alaska and usually still at work when the seminars begin.

The best teachers I have had are the ones who are barely aware they are “teaching”,the tricks of the trade come naturally, and to most students, don’t seem to be tricks. I took 3 extra sadistics (statistics) classes above and beyond the call of duty because the teacher was one of the best I have ever had in any subject. Anybody who can make stats seem easy and enjoyable has got to be good. OMG! I was tricked into learning the most feared class on any college campus!

You have the ability to make people think-which is what the goal of every teacher should be, not just the imparting of their wisdom-and that is rare. Are you sure you don’t want to teach 7th grade? I’ll bet you could even get a 13 yr old to think and in my experience as teacher and mother of a couple-one former and one current-13 yr olds, they don’t want to think. “Just tell me what to do, Mom, I asked you for help didn’t I?” so says my current 13. Getting people to think takes tricks sometimes, we all have a tendency to be 13 still, once in a while, “just tell me what to do, just tell me what to think”. It is easier, I suppose, but, as in math, the learning is not in the final answer but in the getting there. I’ve explained to kids over and over-and adults when I was teaching college chem.-math is a process, not a true false situation.

I wish I could have heard Kevin and you talk, and read the anonymous Hater afterwards. I would have puzzled for awhile, probably, why he was so negative about the seminar, which means I would have replayed the talk in my head for a while, thought it over, tried to see it in the other perspective, tried to see what he was hearing that I didn’t-in the long run, learning. All the thinking it over, seeing from other perspectives, wondering, questioning, well, that is essentially a great learning process, and one good teachers try to get students of all ages to do. And see how easy you make it seem! You are getting 50, 60 or more responses to your blogs, by people who are listening and thinking. Even the ones who don’t agree with you, they are thinking “I don’t agree, why don’t I, why do they, are they seeing something I’m not and if so what is it, or am I seeing something they aren’t. Either way, you get us thinking and questioning.

Much appreciated in this day-to be taught to think for ourselves. thank the goddess that 13 yr old eventually grow up!

    Thanks,Daegan,

And here you have it. Blogging as a platform for teaching. It is a great interactive tool and hey it’s all about branding as well! I liked the post and now did you mean free or phree just checking!

    Hi Party Plan Pat,

He meant free… He typed it as
