“I Can’t Believe I Head Butted That Guy”

Sunday was a beautiful summer day that screamed “Get Out Of The House!”, little did I know (for me), it also screamed “You’re Probably Going To Head Butt Someone Today”, but it did. Here’s how it all went down . . .

(Before I say anything further, let me just say this. Never in my life have I gotten into a fight or head butted a person. I guess, I can’t say that anymore.)

Me and my lady friend Kim got out of the house in the late afternoon for some sun and sushi, so we headed to downtown DC and went to one of our favorite little sushi spots called Nooshi on 19th street.

We had some fried crab and corn wontons, threw back a few Saporro’s, and a few rolls of sushi (including my favorite - spicy crunchy yellowtail).

As we sat there, not even in my wildest of dreams could I have imagined what was soon to transpire.

So we get up and decide to go for a walk. Kim wants to go to a little hookah bar in Adams Morgan called Soussi, so that’s where we head.

About 25 minutes later we’re there. We go inside. We get a table. She orders a drink and mixed berry flavored hookah and we hang out.

Truthfully, I was tired and wanted to go home, but instead of falling asleep I decide to get me a Redbull and vodka.

Not to long after they started a series of old school rap songs that I hadn’t heard in years, so we stayed a little longer (3 hours or so longer)

About 10 at night we head out to catch a cab back home, but I decide I want to get a BIG slice (and when I say big I mean HUGE) of pizza at restaurant about a block and a half away, so we walk over.

I order and in walks a knuckle head with a girl. They’re arguing. Things get heated and the sucker starts throwing things at her.

The guys in pizza shop tell them to leave.

He’s sloppy drunk and ignores them.

A few second later he hits the girl and before I can think I go over and knock the dude on his ass and hold him down one with one arm. After about 30 seconds I let him up, but keep him away from the girl.

While I turn my head he head butts me. Without thinking, I return the favor and throw the punk out.

Two minutes later my pizza is ready. I pay for it. I tip the guy. The store owner thanks me, and Kim and I walk out.

Now, why do I share this little story with you? It’s certainly not to say I’m one for violence and fighting, or to say “hey look at me I saved the day”, no.

Simply this.

Life calls for action.

You’re in your business or you aspire right now to be in one NOT so much because you logically went through the pro and cons of starting a business, but rather, because you were driven by something deep down inside to act.

Maybe at first you only saw the potential to make money.

Maybe it was because you aspired to become rich.

Maybe it was because you wanted more control and freedom and you saw those things available to you.

Maybe it was because you wanted to be hero for your family and friends.

Whatever it was, it sparked a feeling. Do you remember how liberating that felt?

In that split second you didn’t think about what might happen, you just went for it. You acted.

In that moment, your life changed, all possibilities opened up for you, for that moment you were the success you desired, but probably didn’t even know it (I know I didn’t).

And one truth I’ve found that supersedes all others is your success lies in that feeling in that moment when you acted. Harnessing it. Never letting it go. Never letting anyone or anything diminish it.

You keep that feeling and guess what happens?

You keep acting.

You loose that feeling and you stop.

Attaining your hearts desires is simpler than we think.

It’s not a trick or strategy that you can learn. It’s that feeling of limitless possibility that excites each of us to act. You keep that fire burning and WILL do everything it takes to get to your destination.

Why?

Because ONLY there do all obstacles and past experiences fad into nothingness freeing you to simply go do what must be done, and . . . When you’re there success becomes both inevitable and effortless.

That’s where to magic lives.

Acting to stop a girl from getting beat up in the pizza shop without thinking about it and you doing whatever must be done to create the future you see in your dreams are no different.

Simply relax, LOVE where you are now, focus that feeling and ride it to your ultimate life.

  • Hi Deagan

What a great story and it's amazing that you always can relate your daily life with your business and write out such a good story. The writing skill and your mind set is they key to make you successful. I really want to learn how you write.
  • Kin,

Thank you, the first lesson I'd share that's integral to writing well is to talk then write then write then talk. Sound simple, but it's the "magic" behind it all. Second, always remember the devils in the details. Use details to add depth to your message = adjectives and adverbs . . .

  • Good Job Daegan,

I know sometimes you just have to deal with the situation and it sounds like you did well. Surprised you didn't double leg the guy and pound him out! (Duke wrestling):)
Be careful though, now days fools act irrational and use weapons. We all need you out here to keep spreading valuable info.

On my way to the top!
    Brian
  • Sometimes you gotta think fast, so no double leg this go.
  • Daegan, Wmderful story. Felt like I was there! I forgot (Lord Acto?) who originally said it. "All that it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Thanks for doing "something" (taking bold, decisive, and appropriate ACTION! - Keep being "you", and inspiring us to do the same. Tim Tobin
  • Hey Tim,

    Thanks man.

  • Personally I would have called the Police. But then I am not as physically endowed as you.

But I appreciate the moral side of the incident It also gives me a deeper in-sight into your personality and character. Somehow it reinforces the measure of trust and confidence I have in you both as a mentor and leader.

Indeed Daegan, you are the Man.

Yeeeah Daegan!!! I knew it was in you! And still got that pizza.
  • MMM, yes the good ole head but thingy. I just missed an opportunity to act fast on my feet and move in with the head instead of moving out with the feet.
A cross liner was trying to help a new client understand the concept of good health and a fantastic chemical free skin care range. As the new client spoke she whas not convinced the product had what it takes for her busy upmarket Beauty Therapy Boutique.
Other Associates were adding their two cents worth, I just wanted to ask her to come over and I will give her a complete facial with a detailed description of the products and how the anti ageing solution works as a maintainance product, not a quick fix.
As she had only used one or two of the products, it is important to not mix other products lines that may have chemicals or parebins as it defeats the purpose of using our line.
I could have helped the cross liner to nail a client, but I was in a hurry and wanted to get home.
Thanks Daegan, for reminding me to, move in fast, act on heart by doing what is needed, and walk away proud in knowing I did my best to help someone for no gain of my own. Hope there will be a next time.
    Cheers Tina-Louise
  • Hey daegan,

Not only are you the creator of a phenominal marketing system but you've found another use for your noggin (lol). But seriously this world needs more people like you in it with the ability to act on impulse instead of pondering the concequences while someone else could be getting seriously hurt.
I'm also impressed by the fact that you practice what you preach... I mean you really do share the day to day goings on in your life with your email audience.

    Herold.

Thank you for your story about action. I have tried many programs to get some sort of income, and read many books on thinking different to attract wealth and nothing seemed to work for me. I started to get in a funk and have doubts, It wasn't until I heard that Jesus wanted us to be wealthy so we can magnify him and give him glory, you see even though I was raised baptist, I went down a very dark path even to the point where I started to hate people and just curse the world, but since I invited the Holy Ghost into my life I feel nothing but LOVE. I want abundance so I can give back, with that being said I am looking to work with someone that is doing well with a honest home base buisness something with residue pay. There is a lot of them out there and I am confused which one to be involved with. My contact info is as follows:

    Thank you for your time

Kudos to you Daegan for doing the right thing! I really admire how ethical you are about everything you do in life, from your business right down to the way you live your life. This is not just about taking action, it's about doing the right thing too. Anyone could have been a coward and just let the guy beat up the girl out of fear but you chose to act. You're a good example of "how we do everything is how we do anything." Those same people who would have been cowardly in this situation, are also cowardly in starting their own business.
  • Great story Daegan! Reminds me of the time I witnessed a jewelery store robbery and I chased the guys.
With my help, the law caught them and they went to prison. Like you said, sometimes you just have to
step in and do the right thing. Those guys pointed a 45 auto at me and it got pretty scary for a while but it all worked out.

It's a fact, life calls for action!

    Thanks for the story,
    Steve Wood

  • This is a prime example about how we are driven by passion. In this case your passion was to protect this young lady and see she no longer has any harm done. This to me is just like the material you produce I produce and many others that ensures others out there are not being harmed with the violent lies of working their MLM business with unproven methods. Great story Daegan and its a true portrait of how your driven to protect those in life and in business.
