A Post Mother’s Day Charity Special

This message has nothing to do with
marketing, but everything to do with Mom,
Mother’s Day, and charity!

Not too long ago it was mother’s day. Did you
call her? I know I did . . .

And well, you never can give enough to the
person who gave you life and raised you up,
so I thought I do something special for
charity with your help of course.

One of good friends is a struggling PHD
student and master seamstress who keeps
herself sane through school by sewing
beautiful handbags.

She just told me about it yesterday, and when
I saw them I immediately picked one up for
mom. When you see them you’ll see why.

Well, I decided I would do something special
in name of mom, if you decide that it never
hurts to pick up mom a little something extra
what I’ll do is match your purchase and
donate 100% to charity . . .

I figure this is a win-win-win, mom get’s a
great handbag, my good friend earns a few
dollars to help with grad school expenses,
and I’ll donate the same amount to charity.

Check out the selection, and when you make
your choice just put in the “message to
seller section” - My name so I can tally up
the amount to send to charity on our
collective behalf. Here’s the link:

P.S. I forget to tell you, and I know my friend
would kill me if I didn’t. Because the bags
are all hand made there may not be many
available in all varities so it’s first come
first serve.

P.P.S. I’ll let everyone know the total tally
on Monday I’ll be contributing to charity on
our behalf.

P.P.P.S. Let me know what you picked up
or your thoughts about either the handbags
or the best charity below. (I know my friend
would love to know your thoughts.)

P.P.P.P.S. This just in, if you have a custom
order you’d like, just let her know on the
page above.

Thanks for your concern, but my mother passed away in Oct. of 2007 at the age of 99. If that’s any indication I may have a few years left. I’m 62 and would love to retire, so when I sell this mobile home and settle in Las Vegas I will most definitively be intouch. Again Thanks,

Congratulations, that’s a wonderful idea and a great support you are giving this young woman!

I myself support a woman with 5 children, living in Bethlehem, West Bank. She’s a supervisor for teacher, amost never gets her salary for a fulltime job she’s doing. Why? Because the government found a very easy solution: teacher quitting their job before having spent about 15 years in the school service lose their claim for their old age pension… So all the teacher there are working for about 36 months now without salary. What that means? They are starving. Their children are hungry, they are struggling to survive, every day.

This woman also studies gender in Ramallah and it’s so important she can make her master degree. She’s the only woman in this patriarchal system (all others mainly Hamas men, some Fatah) - they respect her on one hand, on the other hand they also try to get her out (their reading of the koran and also their tradition).

When she comes home she’s teaching her children that go to a greek orthodox school. Honestly, I don’t know how she’s managing all this, how she’s feeding her children and how’s she’s able to always dish up at least some white cheese or some rice for her family…

I’m convinced that we have to support people that are working hard to improve the world by sharing and supporting. So what you are doing by supporting this young woman rose my estimation for you personally to an even higher level then before… :-))

    Great job you’re doing!

P.S. In case you have any IDEA how to support women in the West Bank - I’m glad for any support! They are greatly skilled people and - what most people in the West don’t know - the Palestinians are the most educated Arabs. And, they are completely different than how the media here try to make them be… So thanks for any inputs and ideas!

    Best wishes,
    Heike
